Great Rivers Klondike Derby
This event is for all Boy Scouts and Venturers.
Second year Webelos may attend this event if invited by their Troop.
· Build a Klondike Sled (dog sled). Plans are available on the internet. Old skis may be used as runners. Typical team (patrol) size is 6-8 scouts, but may be more or less.
· A passenger (team member) must ride on the sled from station to station
· 2nd year Webelos may be a part of your patrol
What to Bring
· Can of non-creamy soup (1 per person)
· Any additional lunch items you wish to bring. Beverages will be provided
· Mess kit (bowl, spoon, cup) 1 per person
· Drinking water for your patrol
· Pocket knife
· Compass
· Fire building material: tinder, kindling, and small sticks (enough to build a small fire)
· Winter appropriate clothing
· Scout handbook
· Class 1 Health Form (Forms A & B)
